THE DOORS
There are few thousands bands that have good, quality songs.
Recalling only English-speaking rock ones I can
name dozen of dozens of them from sometimes a little
bit old-fashioned Beatles and Deep Purple to Dire Straits,
Guns and Roses and more modern ones. But some of them are
considered greater then others. A question how to measure
their greatness may occur. I see few general approaches to solution.
How much of band's songs are considered
good and how much of them are considered live and relevant today
reckoning how old they are in fact. Perpetual
modernness is the measure of merit in every work of art. In both
ways The Doors receive straight A. More than a
half of their songs are very good (and almost all songs in their
first 2 albums) and none of them seem old-fashioned
unlike, for instance, many Beatles' songs. Also I want to remark
the amazing fact that The Doors don't have one single style
unlike almoast all other bands. Their songs don't belong to one
once found slyle, they are not like each other.
I beliave that it's very hard to hear once their song and then undistinguesh them.
The Doors had invented a lot of new things in music and
predetermined development of rock for tens of years.
